High jewellery designers

Jean-Christophe Paris

Jean Christophe's style is self-defined and game-like: he plays with forms, colours, stones, and materials. The resulting pieces are audaciously original and deeply imaginative-direct outcomes of his playful attitude and refusal to take himself too seriously.

After studying at the Nicolas Flamel School in Paris, Christophe began his prestigious career working with the likes of Cartier and Bulgari. In 1996, he opened his own boutique, and added a second in 2002. The design concept behind both is the same : establish a central location with plenty of windows to showcase not only the artisan at work, but a selection of his latest creations.

Though Jean Christophe's favorite stones-Tahitian pearls and tourmaline-often line his windows, he is quite adept at working with many types. His efforts center on the desires of his customers, for whom he conducts intense, personalized searches, to find the rare and precious stones they covet. His whimsical creations, though, are accessible not only in fantasies: the affordable "Cupidonette" line allows even those with smaller budgets to own a piece of his fantastical collection. Jean Christophe invites everyone to join in his game.

Camille Lescure Paris

A textile designer and creator, Camille Lescure uses an artistic approach which involves an entire palette of materials both old-fashioned and modern, from pearls and silk to lace, brass, wool and precious metals.

In her resolutely "couture" style, she combines metals, embroidery, woven fabrics and crocheted wool to create contemporary jewellery and fashion accessories that, like fetishes, belong close to the body at all time.

Trained at Duperré Mode & Textile, Camille Lescure won the 2007 Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris in the fashion newcomer category. She opened her first shop in Paris in 2008.

Camille Lescure's creations are designed and made in Paris, as a way of championing traditional French savoir-faire while bringing it into the contemporary world.
